Some of the most well-known attractions that can be visited in the city of Bali are the Basilica of San Nicolas and the Teatro Petruzzelli. The Basilica of Saint Nicholas is located in the ancient part of the city, known to locals as Vecchia. It is a Romanic structure that boasts of a gold ceiling and a beautiful crypt that houses the remains of the saint it is named after. Although it was built in the 11th century, it is still considered as the heart of the old town of Bari. 

The Teatro Petruzzelli is another famous attraction that has become a symbol of Bari. It houses and nurtures the cultural needs and ambitions of the city, and was in fact the product of a competition which granted the creation of this grand theatre. The design was the one presented by the Petruzzelli brothers who won this contest. Every year, thousands of tourists arrive here and bear witness to a great artistic history through a fresco dome that represents the greatest tragic and comic poets.

 Bari airport, also known as the Karol Wojtyla airport or the Palese Airport, is the airport that serves residents and visitors of the Italian city of Bari.  The airport is located approximately 5 miles northwest of the city’s town center.  The airport goes by the IATA code BRI. The facilities of the airport were actually upgraded during the years 2005 and 2006. This upgrade included an opening of a new passenger terminal equipped with four loading bridges, a multi-storey car park, and a new control tower.

Arrival and departure procedures at Palese airport are just like how passengers do it at other international airports. Arriving passengers will first be instructed to proceed to baggage claim and immigration before heading towards the exit gates. As for departing passengers, check-in counters should first be visited. After checking-in baggage and confirming tickets and passport requirements, passengers are then instructed to proceed to the security area for security check and hand carry baggage scanning. Passengers should then head on towards the boarding area where they shall wait for boarding orders.

Bari airport offers different shops for passengers. There are actually 5 food points and several shops, including a tobacco shop, a jewellery shop, a book store, a newsstand, and many others. These shops are located both on the departures floor and on the arrivals floor. There are also food shops that could satisfy the hunger of passengers. In fact, one of the food shops is a fast food place that could enable passengers have a taste of the different dishes that are present in the country. Palese Airport also has a Duty Free shop, which is located on the departures floor of the airport.

Passengers can reach Bari airport through different modes of transportation. By bus, the travel time would most likely be around 30 to 45 minutes, which would cost around 0.90 Euros. The bus service starts at 5 in the morning and continues on until 9:30 pm. The average waiting time for the bus would be roughly around 40 to 60 minutes. By car, the airport is around 10 kilometers away from the Bari city center. There are also taxis that could take passengers to the airport.
