Located in the Central Anatolia part of Turkey, Cappadocia is best known as the closest thing a person can have to experiencing a gravity-empowered life in the moon with its dazzling underground cities, rock-carved houses, and cave churches. The region has eight cities that boast of unique travel experience. Of the eight, five boast of delightful tourist attraction: Avanos - the place you visit to experience unique ancient and modern pottery, Goreme- where fairy chimneys on a rock city can be seen, Guzelyurt – where history and scenery intertwines, and Ortahisar and Uchisar – where magnificent rock castles abound.

In Cappadocia, you can bask in the experience of actually staying in a cave hotel with all the modern amenities. Hiking is one of the top activities in the region as the area has a number of paths along valleys. One is also advised to experience the hot air balloon in Goreme, as the sunrise liftoff promises a mind-blowing experience. As Cappadocia is famous for its wine, a trip is not complete without checking out the Turasan Wine Factory. Staying in a cave hotel is strongly recommended.

Travellers are often concerned when it comes to the areas remoteness as airport transport becomes relatively expensive. It shouldn’t be an issue as Green Path airport transfer offers airport transport service at a great price. As Cappadocia has two airports, the Kayseri Erkilet Airport and the Nevsehir Kapadokya Airport, Green Path also has easy airport transport ever-ready and ever-willing to cater to your travelling experience.

Cappadocia Airport Guide

With its mystical terrain and beautiful fairy chimneys, Cappadocia (or Kapadokya in Turkish) is one of the most popular tourist spots in Turkey.  Located in the Central Anatolian Region of the country, Cappadocia can be reached by bus or train.  Of course, the fastest way to get to the province is by flying.  There are many airports that serve this area of Turkey; but if you want to land close to the main attractions, then the Cappadocia airport to choose is the Nevşehir Airport.  This airport is located where all the action is in Cappadocia.

Located in Tuzköy, this Cappadocia airport is the main transit point for all tourists who wish to see the wonders of the area.  Being only a transit point, this airport is fairly small, but it has daily flights from Istanbul.  The airport has several stalls that sell food and of course, the occasional duty free shop, but nothing too fancy.  Ground transport from the terminal is widely available, making transport to other areas in the region easy.

If you prefer a more commercial Cappadocia airport, your other choice is the Kayseri Erkilet Airport.  This is a more commercial airport that accommodates more domestic and international flights from different carriers.  It is large enough to accommodate big jets, like the Boeing 747, though most planes you’ll see here are of smaller capacity.  Full-service carriers that fly to and from this airport include Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa and Asiana Airlines.  Budget carriers, such as Pegasus Airlines, also fly to this terminal.

Nevşehir and Kayseri Erkilet Airports are the two main airports that serve the Cappadocia region.  Usually, when people fly to these airports, they merely transit.  This means after arrival, they journey on to other Cappadocia towns, which are likely their main destinations.  When choosing which airport to fly to, make sure to pick one that’s near that town you’ll be visiting.  For example, if you’ll be staying in the town of Ürgüp, then you’re better off choosing a Nevşehir flight as that’s closer.  Of course, if you don’t mind the commute, then you’re free to fly to Kayseri.
