Also known as the Chita Kadala Airport, the Kadala Airport is located in Chita, Russia in the Zabaykalsky Krai region, which sits on the borders of China and Mongolia. The airport is only 18 kilometers away from the center of Chita and 500 meters away from the Trans – Siberia Railway. Its strategic location gives the airport an importance and an advantage since it lies in close proximity to other countries.
There are scheduled and seasonal flights at the Kadal Airport. Every year, it handles over 150,000 passengers.

The airport was built in 1912 where locksmith and gunsmith Vinokourov made several flights on a private plane called Farman. It was only in 1923 that the first construction was made where the airport was officially established in 1932. It began making international flights by the next year in 1933 and by 1934, made a direct air route to Vladivostok from Moscow via Chita. It was only in 1936 that the first passenger line made its debut flight at the Kadala Airport. The first terminal building was built in 1952 and it received international status in 1994.
Currently, plans on the airport’s further developments are being implemented to attract more airlines and passengers.

The lounge was open in 2010 to serve the needs of important personalities such as public officials and businessmen who use the airport to get to their places of destinations. There’s comfortable seating, cable TV and refreshments available for passengers, which is separated from the passenger waiting area.
