Kiev Airport Guide
Kiev Airport, (or known as Kiev Boryspil International Airport) located 6 kilometers from the west part of Boryspil, is the biggest airport in Ukraine. There are currently four working terminals, one of which is VIP, that handle all domestic and international flights. In 2005, an expansion has been made to Terminal B in order to accommodate the increasing number of flights and passengers. Several commercial and cargo airlines are being serviced by this airport resulting to more than 8 million passengers being accommodated in 2011. Getting to and from the airport has been made easy through buses that run from the city directly to the airport. The government has also constructed a railway that runs from the central Kiev straight to the airport, making access convenient for all passengers.
Passengers can do a self-check-in using the terminals provided inside the airport. During passport inspection, passengers should have their passport and ticket ready. Children should also be able to provide the required travel documents. There are three lounges situated in different terminals within Kiev airport. There is one in the airside of Terminal A, in Terminal B which is open 24 hours and in Terminal F just between gates 7 and 8 which is also open for 24 hours. Internet access has been made available to all passengers using free Wi-Fi. Travelers who prefer to sleep in the airport while waiting for their flight can do so, however, passengers who want to have a comfortable sleep can take advantage of Boryspil Airport Hotel situated in the airport. You can also request for airport transfer to nearby hotels such as Korona Hotel and Old Port Hotel.
There are ATMs inside Kiev airport for travelers who need cash. If you want to exchange your currency to local money, there are currency exchange booths situated in Terminal B, C and F and they are accessible 24 hours. For passengers travelling with kids, there are children’s play rooms on the second floor of Terminal F where you can let your kids hang around for maximum of 6 hours. Restaurants and cafes are also made available to passengers who want to grab a quick snack before the flight. Smoking areas are provided to some travelers and they are located in international terminals B, D and F.
