Malaga Airport Guide

Malaga Airport, known as the carrier of the international airport code of AGP, is located in the southern region of Spain. It is responsible for bringing travelers to the nearby vacation spots of Malaga, Granada, Nerja, and Marbella among others. It is also known as the fourth busiest airport in Spain.

As with all international airports, travelers must directly go to the Immigrations department once their flight has landed in Malaga Airport. They should present the necessary IDs, travel documents, and passports to the authorities for verification. For those who have brought luggage, proceed to the Claiming area to get your items.

Take note that the Customs will also check for your bag's contents. As long as your items have passed security, you can now leave the airport and take your arranged transfers to the hotel.

The first step travelers must take is to check in their flight details, personal information, and baggage. Items that exceed the baggage allowance would have to be paid an extra amount. After checking in, go to the Immigrations and pass the security check provided. You will be allowed to enter the Boarding Area once you have finished going through standard airport protocol.

Malaga Airport is home to so many choices when it comes to dining. There are fastfood joints such as Burger King, Pizza Hut and Whopper Bar to satisfy your cravings for Western fare. If you want to sample the local tastes of Spain, you can eat at the famous La Moraga Airport, Delimarche, Dehesa Santa Maria and Caffe Ritaza.

Coffee shops are also present in the airport. You can find your coffee fix at Starbucks or opt for something more local in Cafe and Te or Soho Coffee.

There are two main duty free shops inside the airport premises. The first one is The Shop and it offers a range of alcohol and tobacco products, cosmetics, accessories, food items and perfume. The second shop named The Express Shop is located near the departure area. It also offers local products, international and local brands for bags, jewelry and other souvenirs.
