The Rostov-on-Don Airport is an international airport located 9 km east of the city of Rostov-on-Don, Russia. It is a port city and the administrative center of the state of Rostov Oblast. It is also known as the gateway to the Caucasus due to its strategic location in the region, making the airport the main mode of air transportation for the city and its neighboring areas.

The airport is a public civilian airport that was built in 1925, where its first terminal building was built in 1932. After the World War II, the building was rebuilt from ruins and it continued to serve passenger flights shortly after. The terminal building used today was built in 1977, and it received its international status in 1986. By 1999 the airport started to operate regular flights to other countries.
