The Nasouri Airport is the second international airport in Fiji. Located on the eastern side of Viti Levu, which is the country's main island, it is only a 30-minute drive from Fiji's capital of Suva. Located in the city of Nasouri, also called Luvuluvu, the airport mainly serves the city's domestic air routes.
Though the airport is mainly serving domestic destinations, it has two weekly flights to international destinations Nuku'alofa and Funafuti. For passengers who have to get to other international cities, they can take a flight to the other Fiji international airport, which is the Nadi Airport and connect to international flights. The duration of time from Nasouri to the Nadi Airport is only 30 minutes.
Currently, there's a 20-year master plan at the airport with a complete refurbishment and upgrade on most facilities. With one runway, this public airport is operated by Airports Fiji Limited and serves smaller international aircrafts.
Currently, there are a few airlines operating at the airport and these are Air Vanuatu,with flights to Port Vila, Fiji Airways with flights to Auckland and Port Vila and Fiji Airways operated by Pacific Sun with both domestic and international flights to Cicia, Funafuti, Kadavu, Labasa, Lakeba, Nadi, Nuku'alofa, Savusavu, Taveuni, Vanua Balavu and Vunisea. Air Pacific is also offering flights to Auckland, Australia two times a week.
The airport's main terminal building consists of two floors. On the ground floor, you can find the departures area with all the necessary facilities that will make you comfortable and give you utmost convenience when waiting for your flight.
You can get food to eat at coffee shops and restaurants found on the terminal's ground floor. In the same floor, you can find other facilities such as a luggage storage room, showers, baby changer room, mother and child room, ATM units, the quarantine office, Western Union Money Transfer and international café, some shops for retail, immigration offices, a disabled lift, a Duty Free store, a VIP Lounge for the government and VIP lounges for airlines Air New Zealand and Air Pacific.
On the second floor of the passenger terminal, you can find an UGG Boots store, a Duty Free shop, a government VIP lounge, some shops, souvenir shops, foreign exchange unit, restaurants and a bar.
There's free internet throughout the airport, where you can avail of free WiFi in certain hotspots. If you don’t have a device you can also make use of internet kiosks available at the terminal. There are also medical services for first aid emergencies at the airport.
There are both public and private modes of transportation available at the airport. If you're a budget traveler, best option would be to ride a bus or coach to the city. If you want a more private way of getting to the city and nearby places, you can get a car rental or a taxi.
